The G5602 bullet train, with a speed of up to 300 km/h (186 mph), spans three provinces, starting from Hefei, the capital of Anhui province, and ending in Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian province.

Many riders are also excited about the route’s views, as the train passes through dozens of scenic sites, including three World Heritage sites, Mount Huangshan, Mount Wuyi, and Mount Sanqingshan.

Some have even dubbed it the “most beautiful” train line in China.

Here’s more about some of the sites the new bullet train passes:

Mount Huangshan

Located in eastern China’s Anhui Province, Mount Huangshan is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of China’s major tourist destinations.

The mountain is renowned for its intricate rock formations, dramatic pines, and seas of clouds particularly when the mountain peaks are covered with snow in winter.

huangshan

It is a frequent subject of traditional Chinese paintings and literature, as well as modern photography.

Wuyuan county, Jiangxi province

Wuyuan

Hailed as one of the most beautiful villages in China, Wuyuan county in Jiangxi province attracts crowds of visitors every April to view the area’s renown canola fields.

Mount Sanqingshan

Also in Jiangxi province, Mount Sanqingshan is famous for its picturesque scenery and its rich history of Taoism.

It was included on the UNESCO world natural heritage list in 2008 for “exceptional scenic quality, marked by the concentration of fantastically shaped pillars and peaks: 48 granite peaks and 89 granite pillars, many of which resemble human or animal silhouettes.”

Mount Wuyi

Wuyi

Standing in the suburbs of Wuyishan city, Fujian province, Mount Wuyi was placed on UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites in 1999.

It covers an area of over 630 square kilometers (243 square miles) and most of the hills are made of red sandstone and are very steep with flat tops.

Many varieties of tea are grown around Mount Wuyi, but it’s most-widely known for dahongpao tea (a type of oolong tea).
