DC’s first cat cafe hopes to find purr-fect homes for felines

This summer, Washington D.C. cat lovers have a new place to enjoy a cup of coffee and hang out with their favorite feline friends. As D.C.’s first cat cafe, Crumbs & Whiskers, wants to bring a little happiness to people and forever homes for cats.

All cats in the cafe come from local animal shutters. Since it opened two months ago, Crumbs & Whiskers has found homes for 16 cats and two kittens.

The first cat cafe opened in Taiwan, but it was in Japan that the idea exploded in popularity.
