Brazil’s app developers are strong part of the economy

Global Business

Defying Brazil’s economy slump, the IT sector is not just on the rise, but is currently ranked seventh in the world. Blame it on Brazilian’s addiction to smartphones and apps.

CCTV’s Lucrecia Franco filed this report from Rio.

More details:

  • According to a study conducted by the Brazilian Association of Software Companies, apps represented 44% of investments that generated $60 billion dollars last year. The results indicate a growth of 6.7 percent in relation to 2013, and rank Brazil seventh in the global IT market.
  • Brazil’s technology sector is also creating jobs and many companies are even having difficulty finding qualified IT professionals.
