Nicholas “Nick” Vujicic: Lives life without limits

Full Frame

Nick VijicicBorn without arms and legs, Nicholas “Nick” Vujicic discusses his passion for life.

Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Nicholas “Nick” Vujicic was born without arms and legs. There was never a medical explanation. But, he refused to allow his physical condition to limit his life.

“It’s just one of these things that, you know, you have a choice,” says Nick. “Either you be angry for what you don’t have or you do the best with what you have and never give up.”

However, as a child, Nick not only struggled physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. He fought depression and loneliness and questioned why he was different from other kids. He wondered whether his life had any purpose.

“From age eight to age 12 I was depressed,” recalls Nick. “At age 10, I tried to drown myself and the only reason I decided to stay was because I didn’t want to leave that pain with my parents because they did nothing but love me, so they didn’t deserve that pain.”
