As the traditional Mid-Autumn festival draws near, people in Shanghai are buying the one important festival food: moon cakes. People wait in lines to buy them. CCTV's Mi Jiayi explained why they're queuing up.

More details:

  • Unlike moon cakes with sweet stuffing, these moon cakes are in the traditional salty Shanghai style, stuffed with pork. The restaurant manager told us that to bake one moon cake takes twenty minutes, and they can only make 900 every hour.
  • Some e-commerce shops owners are sending people to stand in line to buy the moon cakes, and then re-selling them online. Convenient, but they’re almost double the original price.
