Some of the world’s major leaders have addressed the UN General Assembly- China’s President Xi Jinping. United States President Barack Obama and Russia’s President Vladimir Putin.

On Wednesday, the focus will be on Palestine when the Palestinian flag will fly here. After last year’s war in Gaza and the recent conflict in East Jerusalem, the prospects for peace between Palestinians and Israelis seem even more remote.

To discuss all of this, The Heat recently sat down with Riyad Mansour. Ambassador Mansour is Palestine’s Permanent Observer to the United Nations.

On Wednesday the Palestinian flag will be raised here at the UN. And both the Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas and the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu are scheduled to address the UN this week. But what about efforts for peace? The Heat spoke to Nickolay Mladenov. He is the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East peace process.
