The Heat: The Israeli-Palestinian conflict

The Heat

Over the last few weeks, already tense relations between Palestinians and Israelis have worsened. Dozens have been killed in incidents from East Jerusalem to the West Bank.

And there is real concern now that the newest conflict could escalate to further confrontation. Some even warn that it could blow up into a third Intifada.

CCTV America’s Stephanie Freid joined the discussion from Jerusalem.

The Heat spoke to Diana Buttu in Haifa. She is a former legal adviser to the PLO. Buttu specializes in international human rights law.

The Heat continued its discussion on the latest conflict between the Palestinians and Israelis with these panelists:

  • Boaz Bismuth is a foreign news editor and senior analyst with the newspaper Israel Hayom. He is also a former Israeli ambassador.
  • From New York is Avner Gvaryahu. He is a former Israeli soldier who has served in the West Bank. And, he’s a member of a group called “Breaking the Silence.” It’s a group that represents the views of some former Israeli security forces who have been critical of Israeli military operations.
