The Heat: Ending the Syria crisis

The Heat

Given the complexity and number of actors involved in Syria it comes as no surprise that the announcement of a possible cessation of hostilities by the end of this week was met with both optimism and skepticism.

More than 250,000 people have died in nearly five years of conflict. While eleven million others have fled their homes.
Now comes word of the latest tragic incidents. Two hospitals in northern Syria were hit by air strikes, including one supported by Medecins San Frontieres or Doctors Without Borders.
At least 17 people were killed, including at least one child.

For more on the ceasefire agreement, CCTV’s Michal Bardavid reports from Istanbul.
