Tourist destinations can be like new restaurants: Word gets out, people create a buzz, and soon there are long lines to get in.

On Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula, you’ll find the once, sleepy, beach village of Tulum. Now, it’s the hottest spot in the sun. In a decade it’s gone from hammock heaven, to a must-visit magnet of chic bungalow hotels. Business is booming, but some worry it could end up a victim of its own success.
