Obama visits Flint for first time since the contaminated water crisis

World Today

U.S. President Barack Obama will meet with state and federal officials and hear from the residents affected by tainted water.

The crisis began two years ago when the city switched its supply to the Flint River to save money. The river water wasn’t treated properly and lead from old pipes got into the water supply, poisoning many residents, including children.
