Cross-strait economic pact brings more business opportunities

Global Business

Cross-strait economics has long been a hot topic in China, as more and more policies are enacted to accelerate the pace of trade.

CCTV’s Hu Nan reports from Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian province.

Founded in 1970, Fuzhou Taigene Electric Machinery Co. Ltd. set up its mainland factory in 2004. It was among the first batch of companies to benefit from the landmark Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement or ECFA.

Taiwan is the mainland’s seventh largest trade partner, and the sixth largest source of imports. Led by ECFA, cross-Strait trade will continue growing.

Over 600 out of 2,000 exhibitors at the Cross-Strait Fair for Economy and Trade are from Taiwan. Since its first exhibition at the fair in 2010, the Taiwan section has attracted over 2.7 million visitors, as well as a total turnover of $376 million.
