Tensions between India and Pakistan remain high after the recent conflict in Kashmir.

Pakistan and India have fought three wars since winning independence from Britain almost 70 years ago. Two of those wars were fought over Kashmir.

Both claim the region but control only parts of it. And, Kashmir’s de facto border, or Line of Control, is one of most militarized frontiers in the world. Protests and exchanges in the disputed area are up, in the worst violence seen there in years, escalating tensions between Pakistan and India.

And, there are concerns now that the situation could get worse between the nuclear armed neighbors.

For tonight’s show, Anand Naidoo spoke to former president of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf, who had some strong opinions on the current conflict.

To discuss the Indian perspective of the tensions between India and Pakistan:

  • Aparna Pande, director of the Initiative on the Future of India and South Asia.
  • Farooq Bajwa, author and a specialist on the history of Pakistan.
