Rhetoric heats up in final two weeks of US Presidential election

World Today

Republican nominee Donald Trump is warning of World War III if his rival Democrat Hillary Clinton is elected.

Clinton and her supporters continue to attack Trump over allegations he displayed lewd behavior toward women, all of this playing out on the world stage.

CCTV America’s Nathan King has more.

It’s a race to the finish-multiple stops a day crisscrossing the United States in a bid to get every vote. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are also turning up the rhetoric, neither one mincing words.

Clinton said Trump is the worst presidential nominee in U.S. history. Trump said in an interview with Reuters that Hillary Clinton would start the third world war with her policies on Syria. The crowds which turn out for the Republican nominee continue to shout ‘Lock her up’, a reference to the investigation into her deleted emails and the use of a private email server when she was U.S. Secretary of State.

Meanwhile, this anti-Trump TV ad is airing in the key U.S. swing state of Ohio- paid for by an outside group. It suggests a Trump presidency could lead to nuclear war.

Trump’s comment in the final presidential debate last week is galvanizing Hillary supporters- Democratic women are taking the insult and turning it into a badge of honor.
