China - Latin AmericaThe annual APEC meeting took place in Peru with dozens of world leaders in attendence

This year’s Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation, APEC, leaders’ meeting took place in Lima, Peru over the weekend.

China’s President Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech where he called for more open and free trade and pushed for moving forward with a Free Trade Area of the Asia Pacific.  China is now Latin America’s second largest trading partner and a major source of investment.
