AU relieved by peaceful transition in Gambia

The Commissioner for Political Affairs at the African Union Commission said on Sunday in Addis Ababa that the group was relieved that former President Yahya Jammeh has left Gambia and handed over power to its newly-elected leader, Adama Barrow.

Commissioner Aisha Abdullahi praised the work of the mediation team led by Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari in bringing about the resolution.
