Birdwatcher in Brazil uses webcams to raise awareness of the rainforest

Americas Now

A decade ago, a Brazilian birdwatcher switched on the country’s first wildlife streaming webcam, so that enthusiasts all over the world could watch the extraordinary wildlife in the Atlantic rainforest, from the comfort of their homes.

It was a pioneering idea at the time. He has since had 2.5 million visits to his webcams from 170 countries.

His project is supported by the World Land Trust which works to preserve natural areas of outstanding importance around the world.
