Tensions are increasing in Ukraine. Pro-Russian protesters are seizing government buildings and in some cases, hostages in several eastern cities.

It’s raising new questions about diplomacy and Russia’s possible role. On Tuesday, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry threatened Russia with tougher economic sanctions. He accused Russia of trying to destabilize a sovereign state. Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov says the wishes of those in southeastern Ukraine should be reflected in the country’s new draft constitution. CCTV’s Stephanie Freid reports.
