U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel has taken a rare tour of China’s new aircraft carrier, kicking off a 3-day visit to China. After arriving in the eastern port city of Qingdao, Hagel spent about 2 hours on the vessel.

This makes him the first foreign defense official to go aboard the ship; reporters and photographers have been denied access. CCTV’s Han Bin reports.
