The World Bank released a new report on poverty reduction Thursday.
It stressed that while economic development is important for global poverty reduction,
Countries need to adapt policies that distribute more resources to the extremely poor.

World Bank President Jim Yong Kim says economic growth needs to be more inclusive of the lowest earners.
He added that extreme poverty – reserved for those earning less than one dollar and twenty-five cents a day – could be eradicated by 20-30.
The report also noted aid efforts will have to take into account differing needs from country to country.

Sabina Dewan, President of the Just Jobs Program at the Center for American Progress tells CCTV America what countries can do in the short term to alleviate poverty.
