Without getting on a plane, Colombian audiences will have the chance to appreciate the work of 13 Chinese artists coming together to perform “The Dragon Child” directed by famous Australian Director and Puppeteer, Peter Wilson and produced by the Chinese Children Arts Theatre.

For five nights this sports arena called the Coliseo Cubierto El Campin will turn into a magical theatre where up to 14 thousand children and parents will be able to enjoy the show produced by the Chinese Children Arts Theatre.

The show will be one of 50 performances scheduled for the Ibero-American Theatre Festival across seventeen days.

Known as one of the largest theater festivals in the world, the event takes place every other year. The festival offers a wide range of performing arts such as classical works, dance, circus, pantomime and even concerts that are set in theatre halls and city streets. Organizers say when it debuted in 1988, Colombians needed a nudge to let themselves laugh and be entertained.

And the spirit of theater caught on– as year after year the Festival grew in popularity-and size.
