Sea cucumbers are also considered to be an aphrodisiac and have become a culinary luxury making it a highly-coveted catch not just in Asia but in the United States as well.
There’s just one problem demand has caused their numbers drop. Several regions have placed limits on fishing for them and importing requires a permit. But in Mexico, restrictions don’t seem to frighten the fishermen who put their lives at risk for the profits they deliver. In the quest to cash, what price is being paid?
