The United States has the best-armed civilian population in the world. With an estimated 300 million firearms, it means one for every man, woman and child in the country.

Rocker and gun advocate Ted Nugent says, “There is more firepower in the hands of American citizens right now, than any country’s army in the history of the world.”

It’s a controversial issue regularly debated: a Constitutional right to bear arms.

But for a mother, whose child was killed by gun violence, little debate is needed.

“I mean, owning a gun is a right, but my son also had a right. He had a right to live. And, I think, that is more of a right than owning an automatic weapon,” says Caren Teves
