Nigerian president Goodluck Jonathan has defended his government’s response to the schoolgirls’ abduction. He said his administration was doing everything possible to ensure the schoolgirls are released.
Jonathan said in a televised “media chat” that he believes Nigeria is winning its war against an Islamic uprising. In an interview with CCTV’s Ramah Nyang, Jonathan said local authorities in the northeastern state of Borno have “not” been fully cooperating with the federal government.
