Court Orders Mental Observation of Oscar Pistorius

OIlympic athelete Oscar Pistorius has been ordered to undergo a mental evaluation. The judge announced her decision after a psychiatrist testified Pistorius had “anxiety disorder” that may have affected his actions the night he shot and killed his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.

Pistorius, 27, is accused of shooting his 29-year-old girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, four times through a locked bathroom door at his Pretoria home on February 14 last year.

He is expected to be admitted to a public psychiatric hospital on the outskirts of Pretoria where he will be observed by three psychiatrists over 30 days.CCTV’s Dan Williams reports.
