A Chinese construction worker was wounded and ten others are unaccounted in an attack in northern Cameroon blamed on Boko Haram.

The suspected terrorists were said to have stormed an encampment used by Chinese road workers late night of May 16. It was  in a region of northern Cameroon just across the border from the famous Sambisa forest where the sect is believed to holding over 200 girls it abducted from a school in the town Chibok in northeast Borno State of Nigeria. Chinese Construction Crew Attacked in Cameroon

A Chinese construction worker was wounded and ten others are unaccounted in an attack in northern Cameroon blamed on Boko Haram. The suspected terrorists were said to have stormed an encampment used by Chinese road workers late on Friday in a region of northern Cameroon just across the border from the famous Sambisa forest where the sect is believed to holding over 200 girls it abducted from a school in the town Chibok in northeast Borno State of Nigeria. Eyewitnesses say the suspected Boko Haram terrorists came in five vehicles — all of them are heavily armed and stormed the camp where the Chinese road construction workers were staying.

A gun battle between the attackers and Cameroonian soldiers guarding the camp ensued lasting for several hours.

In the end the terrorist were said to have taken about ten of the Chinese workers hostage and raided a police armory in a nearby town called Waza.

Even though Boko Haram has not claimed responsibility for the attack, it is bearing all the hallmark of a Boko Hram operation.

Besides, the sect is known to be active around the border region between Nigeria and Cameroon.

Military sources have even said the sect used the remote villages of Cameroon as launchpads for its attacks in northeast Nigeria.
