Doctors are giving the last check of the victims before they sleep. Gulhasal Bakri­ says her pain in the waist is easing, but not her anger. She says: “I’m very angry, why did they do this? We’ve been living a peaceful and stable life. I’ve been running my stand at the market for 15 years. I’ve very angry, I hate this; I hope police can seize these people and sever­ely punish them. This is what I want now.”

Thursday’s blast has killed 39 people and injured 94. Most of the injured are elderly–frequent morning visitors to the market.

Yang Bingwu, victim of blast, told CCTV reporter: “I’m very angry with this savage act. They are targeting the ordinary people, especially the elderly, it’s too brutal. I believe our government has the ability to solve this problem and bring them to justice.”

Patients are receiving treatment for their physical wounds, but the emotional damage may need more time.

Another victim of blast, Yang Wenzhen, says: “It’s too horrible, I dare not recall it. The government’s policy is so good, why they are hurting ordinary people?”

At this hospital, it is also necessary to take care of victims’ mental health since the blast could affect them for as long as a year.
