But months of unrest and a military takeover may finally be taking a toll on the tourism industry. A former government minister in Bangkok was arrested tuesday in front of reporters and television cameras. Chaturon Chaisaeng had refused to surrender to the army soldiers, who have rounded up scores of politicians since last week’s coup. He was making a speech condemning the military takeover when he was taken into custody. CCTV’s Martin Lowe reports.
