ISIS fighters have already seized several cities in northern and central Iraq, including Mosul, the country’s second largest city and Saddam Hussein’s hometown of Tikrit.
There are reports the Iraqi Army has re-captured parts of those cities.
The United Nations Security Council is expressing concern over the escalating violence.
And U.S. President Barack Obama says he doesn’t “rule anything out” when it comes to helping Iraq deal with insurgents.
