MH370 family members mark 100 days of disappearance

It’s been 100 days since Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 went missing enroute to Beijing. CCTV’s Rian Maelzer reports on how some family members marked the occasion.

Despite intensive searches in the Southern Indian Ocean, no signs of the plane have yet to be recovered. Children and grandchildren, parents and siblings of people on board flight MH370 came together to remember their loved ones. Falling on Father’s Day, the 100 days anniversary was all the more poignant.

Crew member Rain Hasnan left behind a five year old daughter and a son born two months after the flight disappeared. His wife is desperate for answers and like many, doesn’t believe the authorities are telling them all they know. The relatives say gatherings provide solace. Malaysia’s acting transport minister issued a statement to mark the 100 days. Mishammuddin Hussein said he felt history would judge Malaysia favorably as having done all it could under near impossible circumstances. And he said Malaysia could not and would not give up the search for the plane. The relatives say they will keep the government to its word.

Many accept there is little chance their loved ones will be found alive. However, they are still hanging on to that sliver of hope.
