Nairobi denies reports that several women were abducted during attacks on Kenya’s coast. Media reports say the attackers kidnapped 12 women, and killed at least 60 people in two consecutive nights of carnage. Survivors are now recounting the horror.

The attack started at 8.30 PM as around 50 armed men entered the town which is near the popular tourist resort of Lamu Island.

“When he aimed his gun at me I threw myself on the ground. Here is the bullet. It ricocheted from the wall and grazed me,” said George Waweru, a survivor of the attack.

“Everyone was told to sit down. If your name was Mohammed, you were told to step aside. The rest were told to lie down,” said Peter Chege, another survivor of the attack. CCTV’s Robert Nagila reports.
