Hundreds camp to enjoy World Cup at lower cost

With no money to pay for accommodations, hundreds of football fans attending the World Cup in Rio de Janeiro are camping out enjoy the tournament at a lower cost. CCTV’s Lucrecia Franco reports from Rio de Janeiro.

Trailers, vans and tents stand in public areas in Rio as hotels for football fans that have traveled from all over the world to support their national teams, regardless of whether they have tickets to the matches. An estimated 3 billion people are watching the World Cup, but for fans who can not afford the accomodations of staying in Brazil, camping in the host country of the tournament is the only option.
