With Sunni militants in control of much of the north and west, concern continues to mount for Iraq’s religious minitories. Christians, in particular, say they fear living under the extreme version of Islam enforced in areas held by the newly-declared “The Islamic State.” CCTV’s Tony Cheng has more.

Christians in Mosul city in northern Iraq are fleeing en masse with others, as militants from ISIL who captured the city recently, are now looting and burning churches and forcing all women to wear the Islamic veil.

Militants have gone on a rampage, looting and burning government buildings, raising its black flag and burning churches throughout Mosul, the capital of the Nineveh Province.

Christian groups in Iraq allege that militants from ISIL, an offshoot of al-Qaeda in Iraq that was formed last April, have bombed and looted several churches in the last two weeks.
