The U.S. economy remains on course to meet growth targets, according to the U.S. Treasury Secretary. Jack Lew spoke to CCTV’s Wang Guan in an exclusive interview.
The U.S. economy shrank nearly 3% in the first quarter, the worst single period since the 2009 recession. But Secretary Lew said recent data suggested the economy was showing consistent growth, though the IMF has revised down U.S. annual growth to around 2%. He also highlighted the importance of U.S.-China relations as the world’s two biggest economies prepare to meet over the strategic economic dialogue.
