Death of three Israeli youths sparks violence in Middle East

The Heat

After the abduction and murder of three Israeli teens in the West Bank and later a Palestinian teenager in East Jerusalem, the tense relationship between Israelis and Palestinians has been further strained. The Israeli government has launched air strikes across the Gaza Strip targeting the homes of two Hamas leaders. Will the Israelis and Palestinians ever find compromise?

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vows Hamas will pay a heavy price for the fate of 19-year-old Eyal Yifrah, 16-year-old Gilad Shaar and 16-year-old Naftali Fraenkel. The militant Islamic group continues to deny any involvement.

Tuesday night, the Palestinian leadership met to discuss its relationship with Hamas, while the Israeli government is working on a formal response to the teens’ deaths as well as launching air strikes in the Gaza Strip.

The age-old conflict between the two nations continues to evolve, despite the fact that each side had resumed peace talks just three months ago. CCTV’s Roee Ruttenberg reports from Tel Aviv for more developments on this issue.
