Chile has launched an international wine tour in a campaign to showcase their wine to a wider international clientele. CCTV’s Nitza Soledad Perez reports.
The public and private sector of Chile have converged to meet the demand of an increasing number of wine drinkers throughout the world, including China where the number of imported wine drinkers has doubled over the past three years to nearly 38 million.
Although the United States remains the most important market for Chilean wine makers, as the expansion with higher value wines continues they are starting to turn their attention to Asian markets.
Chile hopes to be the number one wine producer in the world by 2020 to surpass wine producing veterans France, Italy, and Spain.
