News of the death of 16-year-old Mohammed Abu Khdeir prompted outrage among Palestinians, outrage that spilled into the streets of East Jerusalem for the third day in a row. The confrontations have been getting more intense.
Israeli police were expecting trouble, and had increased security in tense areas. The Shuafat neighborhood, where the teen was buried, was blocked off from nearly every entrance.

CCTV's Roee Ruttenberg reports.The funeral procession has quickly turned into a confrontation with the Israeli police. There was also tear gas fired and rubber bullets used, as well as projectiles being thrown. This is a reflection of some of the sentiment heard here: to rise up and protest against oppression.
There were also clashes closer to Jerusalem’s old city, following Friday prayers. Israeli police blocked men under the age of 50 from entering the holy sites.
Meanwhile, more rockets fired from the Gaza Strip landed in southern Israel. The country’s Foreign Minister, Avigdor Liberman, toured the border town of Sderot, ruling out a possible cease-fire.
Less than ten kilometers away, hundreds of Palestinians gathered in Gaza’s Jabalia refugee camp. They said they were protesting against Israeli threats and air raids on Gaza.
Other countries, including Egypt and Turkey, are said to be mediating between the two sides. For now, the violence continues.
