President Xi Jinping meets with World Bank president in Beijing

Chinese President Xi Jinping met with World Bank President Jim Yong Kim in Beijing on Tuesday.

Xi noted that the World Bank is an important partner in China’s development and plays an active role in eliminating poverty and promoting development of China’s society and economy.

Xi hoped China and the World Bank can expand cooperation.

China will continue to support the World Bank in its efforts to promote global poverty reduction and the common prosperity of the world, Xi said.

Jim Yong Kim said China and the World Bank have had productive cooperation in the past 30 years. The World Bank pays great attention to exchanges and cooperation with China and is willing to be involved in China’s urbanization and healthcare reform.
