Chinese premier meets with CEOs of multinational companies

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang met with the Chief Executive Officers (CEO) of multinational companies in Beijing on Wednesday.

The attendees of meeting are the CEOs from multinational companies listed in Fortune Global 500, including Volkswagen, IBM, Siemens, Nokia and Standard Chartered Bank.

Li exchanged views with the CEOs in the fields of economic growth, innovation, financial cooperation, energy saving, environment protection and reform in China.

Li noted that a healthy and sustainable development of the Chinese economy in a medium and long term requires scientific outlook on development and the change of development mode. China should actively restructure its economy and enhance its efficiency.

Li also said China’s development requires reform and innovation and the key step is to properly handle the relations between the government and the market. He vowed to crack down on intellectual property infringements to foster a fair market environment.

Jean-Pascal Tricoire, chairman and CEO of Schneider Electric, expressed the willingness to be involved in the process of China’s development and to expand cooperation with China to achieve a win-win result in China’s economic transition.
