Hundreds of undocumented immigrants will be deported

As the political debate surrounding the immigration crisis continues, the Department of Homeland Security says most of the undocumented immigrants will be deported. CCTV's Ellen Scott reports.

Hundreds of the immigrants being held in facilities at the United States-Mexico border are being sent back to their countries of origin in Central America.

After about 57,000 unaccompanied children flooded into the U.S. illegally over the past nine months, the Obama administration in the midst of a heated political debate struggles to establish that the U.S. border is “not open to illegal migration.”

The $3.7 billion that the president asked for in emergency funds from Congress to deal with the crisis has not been fulfilled. Many Republicans in Congress have called for a change to the 2008 immigration law as an alternative way of slowing the influx of young immigrants.
