CCTV's Mark Niu reports.There’s a growing trend of “dumbphone” users in the online market. Some models on the French site “Vintage Mobile” have sold for well over a thousand dollars.
Tiago Gomes is a student in California. However, he enjoys viewing his treasured collection of 70 vintage cell phones, which are back at his home in Brazil. Gomes has been collecting phones since he was twelve.
His favorite is the Nokia 8800 Sirocco Gold Edition, which sports a once “impressive” two megapixel camera.
Some vintage mobile users feel that today’s smartphones take away from the present. Retro has always contributed to culture and fashion. It’s no wonder that the cell phone is now dialing up a connection to a simpler time.
