Looking back at the four years since Dodd-Frank passed

Four years ago today, a landmark piece of legislation became law: The Dodd-Frank rule was established to stop another disaster that put Lehman Brothers out of business and almost took the rest of Wall Street down with it in 2008.

The law is designed to help curb excessive risk taking in a run-up to a recession, for example by trading with a firm’s own assets.
