Taiwan air tragedy: Dozens of bodies recovered

Rescue workers have recovered dozens of bodies at the crash site of a TransAsia flight on Taiwan's Magong island. Fifty-eight people were aboard, but only 10 survived. Relatives of the victims have been flown to the area, where CCTV's Barnaby Lo reports.

The Taiwanese airliner went down in a village on a stormy Wednesday night near Magong Airport in Taiwan’s Penghu chain of islands. Rescue workers were quick to the scene, and 10 were rescued alive.

Investigators were starting to piece together evidence from the wreckage Thursday. Questions were beginning to arise about why the plane had taken off despite bad weather.

Taiwan’s leader, Ma Ying Jeou, called the day one of the saddest in the island’s aviation history.
