All 118 people on board flight AH5017 were killed when the plane crashed in Mali. CCTV-America’s Jack Parrok reports.

French troops have secured the crash site, but both Algeria and France have said the difficult terrain will make an investigation difficult. French officials believe the crash was caused by rough weather. The French army has also recovered one of the plane’s black boxes.

The aircraft left Burkino Faso for Algiers, but crashed in the northern Mali desert Thursday.

Fifty-four of the 118 deceased passenger were French nationals. French government officials met in Paris to decide how to handle the tragedy. They said they will ensure the investigation is thorough despite the fact that the site is in a country torn by civil war.
