Ukrainian troops fought pro-Russian separatists to gain control of the MH17 crash site as European investigators have been getting more involved in the investigation. CCTV-America’s Tony Cheng reports.

Dutch and Australian police officers planned to start searching for evidence and the remaining bodies at the site, but the escalation of violence prompted them to postpone their trip.

Ukrainian troops have advanced into the rebel stronghold Horlivka, which is about 30 kilometers (20 miles) from the main rebel city Donetsk. At least 13 people were killed in the fighting, according to the Donetsk regional government.

There have also been reports of fighting in other eastern Ukrainian cities.
