Russia has yet to respond to the release of satellite images by the U.S. State Department, which Washington said were proof that Russian forces have been firing into Eastern Ukraine. CCTV-America’s Jim Spellman reports.
The images, which the U.S. said were from Saturday, show what are supposedly impact craters caused by Russian artillery strikes in a field on the Ukrainian side of the border. They also show marks which the U.S. claims came from multiple rockets launched from Russia.
Russia has not issued a response to these images, which further supports U.S. allegations that Russian forces have been firing on Ukraine.
The U.S. has ruled out sending troops into Ukraine, but the release of these images could help persuade European countries to issue more sanctions against Russia.
