Cameroon authorities say the Nigerian militant group attacked the northern town of Kolofata on Sunday. They raided the home of deputy Prime Minister Amadou Ali, and kidnapped his wife and her maid.

A local politician and his family were also kidnapped during the attack. At least six people died in the clash.

The attack took place just after Cameroon agreed to join Nigeria in forming a regional military campaign against Boko Haram. This agreement was triggered by the kidnapping of more than 200 Nigerian girls roughly three months ago.
