Food insecurity is a horrifying reality for many families in the United States today. Nearly 1 in 5 children are living below the poverty line without access to nutritious food options, making them highly susceptible to obesity and the diseases that often accompany it.

But, as Full Frame contributor Sandra Hughes reports, food banks across America are implementing new and innovative approaches to feeding hungry children. Sandra Hughes visited St. Francis Center in Los Angeles to learn how families who are struggling to make ends meet are filling their refrigerators this summer.
