Four days after Sunday’s devastating quake, the search for possible survivors is nearing its end. Now residents in the quake zone are trying to pick up the pieces of their lives. CCTV’s Wu Lei reports.

Firefighters and other rescue staff are double-checking houses to make sure no one is trapped under the debris. Equipped with high-tech detecting equipment and search dogs, rescue teams are trying to locate possible survivors. But after several hours of searching, they found nothing.

The temperature hit 32 degrees Celsius (90 degrees Fahrenheit) at noon. Search teams are clearing rubble to help local villagers search for valuables. Villagers say that although their homes have been destroyed, they want to find something familiar to take with them as they begin the next painful chapter of their life.

All survivors have now been relocated to temporary shelters. More relief supplies will be sent in to help them get back on their feet and rebuild.
