Abandoned Canadian town may become new energy hub

British Columbia’s government is pushing for the province to become a leading exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG) with goals of reducing carbon emissions and creating jobs.

Abandoned mining town Kitsault, which has not been inhabited for 25 years, may be re-opened in 2017 if Kitsault Energy’s Adam Tang achieves his goal. Tang is working with a team of Chinese investors to turn Kitsault into a LNG shipping hub.
