British intelligence services are searching for American journalist James Foley’s killer, who is believed to be a British national.

British Prime Minister David Cameron returned to London early from his summer vacation to lead his government’s response. Intelligence officials are looking for a man with a British accent, whose voice is heard on the video released by the Islamic State. The video appears to show Foley’s beheading.

Many of the thousands of foreign fighters estimated to be in Iraq and Syria are known to intelligence agencies from a number of countries.

The British government fears that British jihadists in Iraq and Syria will return to the U.K. as radicalized threats to the country’s security.
